This command is actually an improved version of WRKSPLF. It allows you to search for spooled files on IBM i, depending on the following criteria:

  • User USER
  • Outq OUTQ
  • Outq Library
  • Spooled file name PRTF
  • Printout type FORMTYP
  • User data USRDTA

Once the spooled files you looked for are displayed, you can use the same functions as WRKSPLF (option 1 to 8), but you will need to enter the following parameters:

  • Remapping an EBCDIC spooled file
  • Splitting an EBCDIC spooled file
  • Start printing an ASCII spooled file from a given page
  • Sending a spooled file to a distant system (SNDTCPSPLF command)
  • Transferring a spooled file to PC
  • Duplicating a spooled file
  • Sending an e-mail (MAPSNDMAIL)
