Objective

The objective of this tool is to allow users to easily export layouts to the Mapping Processing Server from M-Designer. Selected Layouts and spool files will be automatically processed to produce an output in a real Mapping environment.

Configuration

The first step to use this tool is to configure the layouts import path on the « application/preferences/server dialog » (figure 1). On a standard Mapping installation, this path should be « C:\MAPPING\MappingWindows\map400 ». If the server should be accessed with FTP or SFTP connection, a FTP path to the map400 folder should be used.

Simple generation

The simple generation process can be done on M-Designer with every opened layout. The layout linked spool file will be used by the process and is mandatory to complete it. To launch the process, click on the “send to Mapping” button (figure 2).

Figure 2 A click on the button will open the configuration dialog (figure 3).

Figure 3 Depending on the server configuration, users will have to fill the scanFolder path or the LPR queue name.

Normal access

On this mode, the server files can be accessed locally or from a network share. The scanFolder path is the only active field and should be filled with the path of a scanFolder.

FTP access

On this mode, the server files can be accessed from FTP paths. Users can choose between scanFolder and LPR mode.

ScanFolder mode

On this mode, the scan Folder ftp path should be specified.

LPR mode

On this mode, the name of the LPR queue should be specified. The server address, defined in preferences pane, will be used to communicate with the server.

Multi-sequence generation

The multi-sequence generation can be done for every “associate project”. To launch the process, click on the “send multi to Mapping” button (figure 4).

Figure 4   A click on the button will open the configuration dialog (figure 5).

Figure 5 On this dialog, user should select an “associate project” file (.mpa) and a spool file (.xml, .pag or .txt). Depending on the server configuration, users will also have to fill the scanFolder path or the LPR queue name.
