A dump file can be created from a mapped spooled file. The resulting file can then be sent to a remote system or directly sent to a printer.
To generate the file, you will need:
- a remapped spooled file which is available in an Outq
- access rights to read/modify mapping folders in the IFS
Example
- Beforehand
- Run command
mapcpysplf
to generate a document from a spooled file - Fill in the OutqName field
- This document is now located in an « outq »
- Run command
- Creating the DUMP file
- Run command
mapsplf
or select « Managing spooled files » in the Mapping Menu - This screen allows you to pick the spooled file
- Press key P (transfer to PC) to display the menu
- Enter the name of a .dmp file in the « Output file » field (do not use .pag files here).
- Run command
- Retrieving the resulting file
- The file is now located in the IFS
