The -logfile:XXX switch allows you to redirect all messages from a map_xps command into a text file:
map_xps -infile:/tmp/invoice.xps -toPDF -outfile:/tmp/invoice_[[InvoiceID]].pdf -logfile:/var/logs/mylog.log
